The Tour confirmed the featured groups for the opening two rounds, with the full groupings set to be released later on Tuesday.
Rory McIlroy, Jordan Spieth and Webb Simpson are in another spotlighted group, given that the Northern Irishman had to relinquish his top spot in the world rankings to Rahm after the Spaniard won the Memorial Tournament.
Justin Thomas, Collin Morikawa and Hideki Matsuyama will also start providing some fireworks on Thursday while Brooks Koepka, Viktor Hovland and Patrick Reed form the fourth group.
