European Tour Chief Executive Keith Pelley released a statement on Monday to provide an update on the monitoring their efforts regarding the coronavirus pandemic.
With world sport in complete lockdown, Pelley insists the Tour is exploring every possible aspect to get things up and running again, once the health and safety of everyone involved can be assured.

But, at the moment they are committed to working with organisations and agencies in order to imply the correct recommendations from these parties.
‘As important as golf is to all of us, public health and well-being is the absolute priority. That will remain the case as we continue to monitor this rapidly evolving global pandemic over the coming weeks, working with the World Health Organisation and each national government and their public health agencies to ensure we have the latest advice to inform all our decision-making,’ Pelly said.
A total of seven events across the European Tour have been postponed or cancelled so far this year as a result.
‘While we are unable to bring you any live action during these unprecedented times, over the coming weeks, social media will undoubtedly play an even more important role in keeping people entertained and connected.

On the PGA Tour, the past weekend’s PLAYERS Championship had to be cancelled after one round in, while the Masters tournament, which was scheduled to start on the 9 April, has also been postponed.
