Only four South Africans will be in action at this week’s Travelers Championship with Dylan Frittelli in particular fine form heading into the event.
Last year’s John Deere Classic winner made a significant surge up the past weekend’s RBC Heritage leaderboard with a final-round 62 on Sunday, holding the early clubhouse lead at a stage. In the end, American Webb Simpson claimed victory at Hilton Head with Frittelli still securing an impressive top-10 finish.
He will be hoping to hit the ground running at TPC River Highland when the Travelers gets under way on Thursday. Frittelli will partner Ian Poulter and JT Poston in a group for the first two rounds this week.

Charl Schwartzel managed a T41 at the RBC Heritage over the weekend but showed glimpses of consistency on the PGA Tour prior to the Covid-19-enforced hiatus for golf. Schwartzel will play with JJ Henry and Doc Redman in a group on Thursday and Friday.
A final-round 72 prevented Branden Grace from a lower finish at the Heritage after solid showings in the opening three rounds with 69, 69 and 67. A bit more composure at the Travelers could bode well for the South African Open winner, who will feature next to Scott Brown and Harold Varner III.
The final South African in the field at the Travelers Championship will be Louis Oosthuizen, who missed the cut at the RBC Heritage after rounds of 73 and 73.
Oosthuizen managed a T55 the previous week at the Charles Schwab Challenge, but will be eager to show more composure over the course of four days at the Travelers. He has been paired alongside Lucas Glover and Adam Schenk for the opening two rounds.
Christiaan Bezuidenhout and Erik van Rooyen will not be in action this week.
