Nobuhle Dlamini and Lejan Lewthwaite share a tie of the lead after the second round of the SuperSport Ladies Challenge hosted by Sun International at Sun City.
The pair will start the third round on Thursday on seven under par after Dlamini produced an excellent round of 69 on Wednesday, while Lewthwaite, who was one of the overnight leaders on six under par on Tuesday, carded a one-under par 71.
Dlamini has been replicating her solid and consistent form of late in this week’s competition and managed another bogey-free round after her opening-round showing of 68.
Two birdies on the front nine, and one more as she turned for the final nine, have given her another good platform from where to contend for the title.
Lewthwaite managed a very bright start on Tuesday with an opening- round 66 and probably hoped for a similar score on her second day, but a double-bogey on the par-four 17th set her back somewhat.
Tandi McCallum, though, is breathing down their necks and remains a very dangerous threat to anyone planning on winning the competition.
She would also have bargained on a much-lower score than 71, but unfortunate bogeys on the 1st and 10th holes all but thrashed that idea despite her making three birdies throughout the round.
The other overnight leader from Tuesday, Stacy Bregman, experienced a somewhat forgettable day as she carded a disappointing two-over-par 74, which dropped her down to T4, alongside Nicole Garcia.
Garcia made up a lot of ground in her second round, however, shooting a four-under-par 64 after going all square on day one.
She will be hoping to take that confidence into Thursday’s action to put some pressure on the leaders and climb even further up the leaderboard at Sun City.
