Double FedExCup playoff winner Bryson DeChambeau has confirmed his place as one of the best players in the world after moving into the top 10 in the world rankings.

Released on Tuesday, DeChambeau continued his climb up the rankings – he started the year in 99th place – on the back of his stellar late season form to jump five places into seventh in the world.
Often overlooked due to his ‘mad scientist’ approach to the game, the 24-year-old American star has now moved past Rory McIlroy, Rickie Fowler, Jordan Spieth and Jason Day thanks to bagging wins at the Northern Trust and the Dell Tech at TPC Boston.
Dustin Johnson ensured his kept his top spot thanks to fighting off competition from Brooks Koepka and Justin Rose with a final round 67 that helped him to a top 10.
South Africa’s best performer this weekend, Erik van Rooyen, moved up eight places to 124 in the world following his solo fifth finish in Denmark. The Joburg Open runner-up missed out on making it a five-man playoff by a single shot after a bogey free 65 got him into the mix late on Sunday with the consolation being a hefty cheque banked and a now a ranking as the country’s seventh best place.
He was the only South African in the top 10 to show positive movement this week.
