South Africa’s George Coetzee has taken a one-shot lead at the Portugal Masters and is eyeing a fifth European Tour victory at Dom Pedro Victoria Golf Course on Sunday.
Coetzee, who won the Titleist Championship at Pretoria Country Club last week, delivered a third-round 66 that had him jump to the top of the leaderboard, mainly thanks to overnight leader Julien Guerrier’s 75 on Saturday.
Coetzee managed two birdies and a bogey on the front nine before coming home with two more birdies and an eagle to conclude the day with a five under par.

It means the 34-year-old will start Sunday’s final round on 11 under, one shot ahead of Guerrier, who is in T2 alongside Japanese Masahiro Kawamura.
England’s Laurie Canter and Sweden’s Niklas Lemke are a further stroke back on 9 under par and in T4.
Compleat Golfer playing editor Brandon Stone will head into the final round on six under and in T12, while Wilco Nienaber, who holed out on the 5th hole for eagle is one stroke back on five under after finishing the day with a 73.
