South Africa’s Charl Schwartzel will start the final round of the Safeway Open in Napa only four shots off the pace after a solid moving day on Saturday.

Schwartzel delivered his third consecutive round of 68 at the opening event of the new PGA Tour season on Saturday – finishing his round on 12 under par for the event.

The 36-year-old battled through another composed performance that saw him go bogey free for the day, while rolling in four birdies throughout his 18 holes.

With a congested leaderboard at the top, Schwartzel will head into the final round’s action in T18, alongside 11 other players, who are also battling to come out on top.

They will, however, be chasing a group that consists of Brian Stuard, James Hahn and Cameron Percy, who are leading the way on 16 under par.

The trio will take a one-shot lead into Sunday’s final round with Kristoffer Ventura, Sam Burns and Harry Higgs all on 15 under and in T4.

They are closely followed by a group of five players on 14 under par for the week with six other contenders a further shot behind on 13 under.

Branden Grace is also still firmly in the mix and could be set for a good finish after he concluded Saturday’s third round on 9 under par and in T36.

MJ Daffue unfortunately dropped a couple of shots on moving day after coming home with a 2-over-par 74 that saw him finish on 6 under for the event.
