Garrick Higgo cut a very satisfied but also tired figure after winning his second European Tour title in three weeks at the Canary Islands Championship on Sunday.
Higgo made it three consecutive South African victories on the Spanish Swing in what was a very successful few competitions in Tenerife for the local golfers.
The 21-year-old sealed a six-shot triumph with a winning score of 27 under par and he admitted afterwards that he’s very relieved with how things went recently.
‘It’s amazing – I’m happy to be done now. Very tired but just really happy and thankful,’ Higgo said after being swamped by fellow South African golfers with champagne on the final hole.

He converted his overnight lead into a comfortable victory and was boosted with a brilliant hole-in-one on the seventh hole.
‘From the start, it is not easy to lead. The other day (two weeks ago) was my first time and in this game anything can happen. It’s awesome. They (the other South Africans) have taken my under their wing and I learn a lot from them,’ Higgo added.
“I’m really tired but I’m just really happy, and thankful”
