Louis Oosthuizen will be consoled by a staggering payday after coming close to adding a second Major to his tally at the US Open.
The South African, who finished in a tie for seventh, walked away with R5 437 162.
He wasn’t the only South African to benefit from the increased US Open purse (up to $12.5 million in total matching The Players Championship offering as well as standing above the other Majors in cash on the line).
Erik van Rooyen (T43) took home R614 181 while Justin Walters (T65) bagged R352 984.
Winner Gary Woodland received $2.25m for his efforts.
