World No 2 Dustin Johnson has confirmed the news that he will no longer be taught by swing coach Claude Harmon.
Johnson will continue to utilise the services of Harmon’s father, Butch, but only via a video setup, with Allen Terrell coming on board to assist.
Terrell, who coached the one-time Major winner in college, recently took on the role as director of coaching at the new Dustin Johnson Golf School in South Carolina.
‘I have great respect for Claude, both as an instructor and friend, and appreciate all he has done to further my career,’ said Johnson.
‘He has undoubtedly helped me reach many of my goals.’
Reports suggest the 34-year-old informed his now former coach of the last five years of the change via text as he prepares his defence of the RBC Canadian Open ahead of next week’s US Open at Pebble Beach.
