South Africa’s Branden Grace will tee off at 15:10 alongside Hideki Matsuyama as they attempt to chase down Jordan Spieth in the final round of the 2017 Open Championship.
Grace played his way into the record books with eight birdies and no bogeys on Saturday, and begins his final 18 holes alongside President’s Cup teammate Hideki Matsuyama. The world number two shot 66, but remains seven shots behind Spieth.
Spieth will once again play alongside Matt Kuchar, with the final pairing off at 15:30 at Royal Birkdale. US Open winner Brooks Koepka and Canada’s Austin Connelly are in the penultimate pairing at 15:20.
Charl Schwartzel is the first South African off at 09:35, with Brandon Stone next off at 11:50. Stone shot 68 on Saturday and will join local hero and the only amateur in the field, Alfie Plant, for the final 18 holes. Plant has had a large crowd supporting him all week, which should add some enthusiasm to Stone’s day.
At 12:25, Ernie Els and Haotong Li will get their final round under way, with Shaun Norris next up at 14:10. Norris moved up 30 matches from first off on Saturday to 31st off on Sunday after his brilliant 65.
Before Grace and Matsuyama get under way, world number one Dustin Johnson and last year’s Champion Golfer of the Year, Henrik Stenson, attempt to do the unimaginable and erase the eight shots between themselves and Spieth.
