Jordan Spieth birdied the 18th to cap off the perfect start to his title defence at Augusta National Golf Club. The Texan youngster shot 66 to remind the world why he’s the reigning champion. As if we had forgotten.
The world number two played a flawless first round that included six birdies to set the clubhouse lead at six-under-par, two shots better than second-placed Paul Casey.

Afternoon starter Jason Day was yet to complete his round, but had already gone to the turn in five-under-par.
Louis Oosthuizen had a steady day that included three birdies and three bogeys for a level-par score, which put him into an early share of 19th place.
