Charl Schwartzel and Garrick Higgo led the way for South Africa in round one at The Masters.
Both scored even-par rounds of 72, leaving them five shots adrift of leader Im Sung-jae in a share for 19th spot.
Erik van Rooyen and Christiaan Bezuidenhout shot one-over 73s to sit tied for 31st at Augusta National, while Louis Oosthuizen – who was paired with superstar Tiger Woods – played an indifferent round of four-over 76 to sit tied for 70th spot.
