The event, which allows family and friends to caddy and even hit a few shots, was cancelled for the first time an hour after getting under way on Wednesday.
South Africans Trevor Immelman, Charl Schwartzel and Louis Oosthuizen had all withdrawn from the event prior to the official confirmation of the cancellation.
At the time the course was shut down, Mike Weir and Brendan Steele were leading on -3.
No winner of the Par 3 contest has ever gone on to win The Masters.
