South Africa’s Branden Grace produced his best round of the 81st Masters, with the wind finally letting up at Augusta National, writes WADE PRETORIUS.
With the wind finally playing ball, the greens were quickened up, which made putting extremely difficult on Saturday. Grace got his round off to the perfect start when he made birdie on one; a hole which was playing significantly easier than in the previous two rounds.
A birdie on 3, set up by an approach hit to less than three feet, followed his par on the second, but that’s where the scoring was halted as six successive pars followed for the top-ranked South African.

A bogey at the start of Amen Corner saw Grace drop back to -1 for the day as he failed to convert makeable birdie attempts on 12 and 13, much to his frustration. What will please the young South African, is that that he made only one bogey on Saturday after making 10 plus a double during the first two days.
Despite finishing with a 71, Grace moved up ten places to T35 as he looks forward to a strong Sunday finish with valuable world ranking points on the line.
