South Africa’s Louis Oosthuizen has completed the unwanted runner-up career grand slam, but insists he’ll ‘rise up’.
Oosthuizen made a late bid to upset Justin Thomas on Sunday, but a bogey on the 16th hole ended any real chance of getting his second Major. Instead, he finished in a share of second to complete a career grand slam of second place finishes.
The 34-year-old added the PGA Championship to second-place finishes at the US Open (2015), the Masters (2012) and The Open (2015). He joins Phil Mickelson, Jack Nicklaus, Greg Norman, Tom Watson, Arnold Palmer and Craig Wood as the few players with this unwanted honour.
His response?
Just finished my career grand slam second’s .. “I’ll rise up” pic.twitter.com/083aRityWn
