After putting the TP5X into play for the first time this week, Argentine Andres Romero fired a blemish free 65 in the final round to finish the tournament on -17, 1 shot ahead of stablemates Sergio Garcia and Richard Bland.
Holding his nerve in Bavaria, this win is the first for Romero since the 2007 Deutsche Bank Players’ Championship of Europe.
Choosing to put the new TaylorMade TP5X ball into play just this week, Romero got off to a flying start with a hole in one on just the second hole of the tournament. Romero went on to card 22 birdies over the 4 days of the tournament. Sergio Garcia and Richard Bland, who also play the TP5 golf ball range finished in a tie for second place.
