Thriston Lawrence landed his first hole-in-one on the DP World Tour during the second round of the DS Automobiles Italian Open.
The South African’s ace was from 227 yards with a six iron at the short 7th, with the ball landing just shy of the ridge on the green and feeding slowly down to the hole before dropping in.
That earned him the keys to a DS 4 Puretech Automatic Bastille Business.
“It was probably the highlight of my day and week,” said Lawrence. “It was a perfect six iron for me. My caddie told me to hit it 14, 15 yards short of the hole and just let it trickle up there.
“And I pitched it exactly where I wanted to and just stopped looking because you can obviously not see as much as you’d like.
“I heard a clap about 15 seconds later as it went in. So yeah, obviously very pleased at that and it’s nice to get a car.
“It’s hopefully the first of many!”
