German Yannik Paul rolled in a birdie putt on the final green to grab a one-shot victory at the Mallorca Open on Sunday.
The world No 190 went into the last day tied for the lead with in-form New Zealander Ryan Fox but both players struggled to pull away from the chasing pack.
However, a 15-foot putt from the fringe on the 18th gave Paul a one-over-par 72 for a 15-under total which was enough to avoid a playoff.
“It was really hard today,” said the 28-year-old. “Luckily, not a lot of the other guys made a lot of putts.”
England’s Paul Waring and Paul’s compatriot Nicolai von Dellingshausen were preparing for extra holes but had to settle for a share of second place on 14 under.

World No 25 Fox, who was bidding for his third win of the season, laboured to a 74 and finished a further stroke back alongside Dale Whitnell.
South Africans Louis de Jager and Justin Walters both finished on five under for a share of 43rd.
