Deon Germishuys is one shot behind the leaders after the first round of the ISPS Handa Championship in Japan.
Andy Sullivan and Kim Yeongsu posted opening 63s at PGM Ishioka Golf Club on Thursday to lead the way.
Four-time DP World Tour champion Sullivan fired eight birdies, with his only blemish a bogey on the 7th, while South Korean Kim produced a flawless first round containing seven birdies to join Sullivan on seven under par.
Germishuys, Swede Alexander Björk and Canada’s Aaron Cockerill were in a three-way tie for third.
Home favourites Keita Nakajima, Yosuke Asaji and Ryutaro Nagano were on five under alongside Jacques Kruyswijk, Sebastian Söderberg, Brad Kennedy, Daniel Hillier and Marcel Schneider.
