Pecanwood Estate and Pecanwood Golf and Country Club are under new management and with the guidance of its Home Owners Association (HOA), the lifestyle estate will be stepping forward into an entirely new phase in its history.
The HOA has entered into a long lease with the property owners, which will allow for a full range of exciting plans at the estate to be realized. The estate’s management team has already taken over the clubhouse, during which process the facility has undergone extensive refurbishment and upgrades.
These changes have included a complete overhaul of all the public areas, with new décor including, carpets, furniture and drapes. The whole interior has been repainted and the gardens and surrounds have been made even more attractive.
The original facilities, including the bar, restaurant areas, pro shop, the gym, health spa and the large swimming pool are still all in place, to which has been added an extended functions’ capability.
All of these changes mean that whether you are hosting a golf day, a corporate team building event, or perhaps a special and more personal function to commemorate a wedding anniversary, or a birthday, Pecanwood will be able to provide a tailor-made solution to fit the needs of the occasion.
The F&B capabilities at the upgraded facilities are now run by a new concessionaire. This has resulted in a complete revamp of the menus and has introduced a whole range of new dishes and food, whether you are at the clubhouse to enjoy breakfast before a game of golf, a light lunch with friends and family, or a snack with your sundowners on the terrace.
The changes also include an updated range of flexible functions’ menus to suit every budget, both for private occasions and for those larger company affairs, or more formal programmers.
What has not changed is Pecanwood’s quite extraordinary setting.
Sited on what was originally a two-hundred-and-twenty-hectare tomato farm, the estate was developed on the banks of the Hartbeespoort dam in the fertile valley between the enfolding arms of the Witwatersberg and Magaliesberg ranges. The ancient mountains provide a perfect backdrop to the sparkling waters of the dam and the verdant green of the estate itself.
The other element which has not changed is that Pecanwood also remains firmly entrenched in its position as the premier estate in the Hartbeespoort area, and one of the top investment and most desirable residential estates in southern Africa.
The estate’s centerpiece is the Jack Nicklaus signature golf course, which itself is also undergoing some major works. These are merely the results of age and are those which all layouts must undergo at this stage in their lifespans. These include an ambitious programme to refurbish the course’s bunkers and the installation of a completely new, more efficient and even more water wise irrigation system.
In combination, the golf course, with the clubhouse as the focal point, offers any company, or function host a superb venue for client entertainment. The added advantage is that although Pecanwood is in relaxing, countrified, natural surroundings and away from the bustle of the metropolis, it is still within easy reach of both Johannesburg and Tshwane.
The R 511 through the Hennops River valley offers direct access from Sandton, while the alternative, very popular and more straightforward, if somewhat less scenic, drive is along the R 512, which is routed from the Western bypass and Randburg. These two options, coupled with the N4 toll road from the Western suburbs of Tshwane, offer good access to the region by road.
For the out of town guests attending any function or event at the estate, is the added advantage in the form of Lanseria International airport which lies only a few kilometers away, with its flight connections to all of the country’s principal centers.
If you are a resident in Gauteng then Pecanwood Estate is a lifestyle and the experience is to be found only just around the corner and so at the start of this new phase, the estate’s management cordially extends an open invitation for you to visit and to experience the facility and clubhouse for yourselves.
To arrange your visit, or discuss any of the estate’s facilities or services, please contact the Estate’s office on 012 244 8000, and speak to one of our staff members who will be happy to answer any questions and to coordinate your visit and arrange the necessary security clearances.
The management and staff look forward to welcoming you to the ‘new’ Pecanwood in the very near future.
