Lee-Anne Pace is set to make a big cheque at the Fubon LPGA Taiwan Classic this week after finishing the third round in a share of fourth place.
The South African shot 69 at Miramar Golf & Country Club on Saturday to reach eight under par for the tournament, but was a lengthy eight shots behind leader Ha Na Jang.
Pace is looking for her second top-five of the season, and with six events left on the calendar now is a good time to be playing well.
Jang, meanwhile, was unstoppable in the rainy conditions and carded 62 that included no bogeys to give herself a six-shot lead over China’s Shanshan Feng.
‘Really surprise my play because weather so bad on the back nine.’ Jang said. ‘But just be patient every hole. Just simple my thinking. Just thinking hitting the flag and the hitting the fairway and really good score.’
Feng, meanwhile, knew that low scores were out there in Taiwan and remained optimistic ahead of the final round on Sunday.
‘I would say overall the first few days I’ve done well. In the past three weeks I’ve had some very good tournaments.” Feng said following her round. “So I’m just happy that I can keep on with my good condition. Somebody shot 62 today. Maybe I’ll shoot 62 tomorrow,’ she said.
