SRIXON Sports SA is pleased to announce the release of the all new Z Series drivers, which leverage the Ripple Effect to deliver the greatest distance and control in SRIXON history. The two new models, Z565 & Z765, will be available at the end of September 2016.
The new SRIXON Z Series drivers are designed for maximum distance and control making these the most innovative, and highest performing drivers SRIXON has ever made. Golfers can hit the ball aggressively and still enjoy a highly stable trajectory with minimal vertical and horizontal variances.
◇ About the Ripple Effect concept
The “Ripple Effect” is the key concept of the new SRIXON Z Series golf clubs. Starting with drivers, this series offers outstanding benefits to pros, top amateurs, and average golfers alike. The concept also refers to the intention of further raising the presence of SRIXON golf clubs among golfers everywhere from around the world.
■ New SRIXON Z Series driver lineup
To match the individual golfers’ play style and course management, the lineup comprises of two new drivers: Z565 & Z765
Z565
◇ Head size: 460 cm3
◇ Available lofts: 9.5°, 10.5°
- Features The largest head volume in the series. Increasing the lateral MOI in the head further stabilizes control. Overall round shape inspires more confidence at address and allows higher launch with more forgiveness and a slight draw bias.
Z765
◇ Head size: 445 cm3
◇ Available lofts: 9.5°, 10.5°
- Features Compared to previous model, features 18% higher lateral MOI and 15 cm3 greater head volume. The head shape is designed for golfers with high swing speed, delivering a more stable trajectory.
Key features of the new SRIXON Z Series drivers
- New head structure
Dunlop Sports (Headquarters of SRIXON Sports SA) designed the new SRIXON Z Series drivers to combine a greater sweet spot with a lower centre of gravity. The new Power Wave Sole features an advanced multi-step design. The new Stretch Flex Cup Face has been extended farther around the crown and sole. The new lightweight crown is thinner and lighter.
Thanks to these three features, the drivers offer a lower centre of gravity and a more flexible lower face, delivering a sweet spot that is 10 percent larger than that of the previous models.
1.1. New Power Wave Sole
The advanced multi-step design of the Power Wave Sole allows the entire sole to flex, which enhances COR especially on low impacts. The result increased distance across the face.
Since the new Power Wave Sole allows the whole sole to flex, there was no need to increase the thickness of any particular area of the sole. This design helps maintain a lower CG and promote reduced spin off the tee.
1.2. New Stretch Flex Cup Face
To provide increased distance with new Z Series drivers, SRIXON increased the size of the high COR area by expanding the sole and crown flares of the cup face. “Stretching” the face more than the previous model to improve off-centre impact distance over a greater area. This result is a higher COR area, maximizing forgiveness by increasing ball speed on low impact for more distance.
1.3. New Lightweight Crown
SRIXON removed about 4 grams from the crown and strategically repositioned the surplus mass to enhance clubhead MOI, which increases directional control. At the same time, the centre of gravity is lowered, which promotes less spin off the tee.
- New Miyazaki Kaula Shaft
The newly developed Miyazaki Kaula shafts are designed to increase distance with lighter weight profiles. To maintain stability and control, Miyazaki engineers created a new stiffness distribution that is softer on the butt side and has lower torque. This adds flexibility and directional stability.
In addition, the Miyazaki Kaula shaft features Toray T1100G carbon fibre in its hoop layer,2 resulting in 24 percent higher compression stiffness and stable flexion behaviour. This advanced material has already been successfully implemented on the XXIO9 series of golf clubs. Furthermore, the bias layers3 of the new shaft features the 90t-40t high-elasticity hybrid prepreg, which is the first time these materials have been combined which helps stabilize the shaft’s torsion behaviour without adding undue weight.
- Design
The wider, bigger sole area reflects the power and boldness associated with the SRIXON brand. In addition, the Power Wave Sole with its visually distinctive wavy ridge pattern emphasizes the drivers’ outstanding COR and effectively ties into the Ripple Effect concept.
The colour scheme of the shaft centred on orange highlights the passion that golfers bring to the course. The wave motif of the shaft design builds on the nature-based motifs of past Miyazaki shaft designs and further adds to the visual branding behind the Ripple Effect concept.
