World No. 1 Jason Day has reportedly signed an endorsement deal with Nike.
The longtime TaylorMade staffer intends to continue using TaylorMade equipment, according to ESPN’s Darren Rovell, but will move to Nike for shoes, apparel and hats. This comes just six weeks after Nike announced it would be exiting the golf equipment business.
According to an unnamed source with the report, Day’s deal could be worth more than $10 million a year. Day’s agent has not yet responded to GOLF.com’s request for comment.
Day’s 2016 season has seen him rise to (and remain) the No. 1 golfer in the world with wins at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, the WGC-Dell Match Play and The Players Championship. He most recently withdrew from the BMW Championship last weekend with a back injury.
With his Nike deal, Day joins fellow golfers Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy, among others.
