Lee-Anne Pace dropped shots at the first and fourth holes on Sunday at the Ladies European Masters, but clawed her way back to one under par for the round to share fifth place.
The nine-time Ladies European Tour winner birdied the eighth, 10th, and 17th at Golf Club Hubbelrath to sign for 71. She was 10 under par for the tournament, seven shots behind winner In-Kyung Kim, who roared to victory with a round of 63 and a 19-under-par total.
Pace showed tenacity in salvaging her final round, and will go into the coming weeks confident that a victory is possible.
Spain’s Belen Mozo, who shared the lead with Pace at the start of Sunday, shot 69 for sole second on 12 under par, which was five shots less than the winner. Camilla Lennarth and Sandra Gal shared third place.
South Africa’s Nicole Garcia shared 41st place, while Stacy Lee Bregman was tied for 55th place and Connie Chen tied for 62nd place.
