Zimbabwean Scott Vincent on his opening round at the Hong Kong Open on Thursday and qualifying for next year’s LIV Golf Series.
How would you sum up your round of 69 today?
It’s good practice. It’s a great golf course. The two nines play very differently, but it’s just good practice. We’re here to learn, we’re trying to get better, we’re, in a way, also preparing for next year’s events, but at the same time, still competing here. So yeah, good practice.
What’s the course like? Do you have to change up your game with it having two different nines?
I mean, that’s why we do practice rounds and try and figure out the best strategy and everything. What it might look like for me is very different to someone else, so we’re still getting the hang of it. I think we’ll make a few adjustments for tomorrow, depending on wind and temperature. A lot of things go into it, but I’ll try and do better tomorrow.
How is it being back on the Asian Tour and seeing some old faces?
So good. You know this this is pretty much my home Tour, so I love being back, love playing here especially and the people are great. It is the friendliest Tour so it’s always good coming back.
Congratulations for making it to LIV for next year.
Yeah, it was a goal. We have big goals as it is, but that was definitely one of them. The way that it all unfolded was just a kind of an amazing little miracle for us so we’re super grateful. All credit to God for that. I just have a small part to play and I just try to do the best I can with what I have so it was it was awesome.
