Dylan Frittelli shot 66 at Golf Club de Geneve on Friday to move into second place at the Rolex Trophy with one round to play.
The South African has been knocking on victory’s door for some time and has top-10s from three of his last five starts. He ranks 13th in the Race to Oman and a victory this week would almost certainly secure his European Tour card for 2017.
The 26-year-old in 188th in the World Ranking and has the pedigree to compete on the biggest stages. This week on the shores of Lake Geneva he’s shown his class with rounds of 71, 65, 66 to make the 54-hole mark on 14 under par.
He’s made one bogey in the last two rounds, and goes into the final 18 of the tournament tied for second with England’s Sam Walker and one shot behind leader Pep Angles.
The business end of the season is here and Frittelli needs one last push to secure his playing privileges on the 2017 European Tour. This could be the week.
