Louis Oosthuizen has withdrawn from The Masters after completing 17 holes of his second round.
The 40-year-old, among the 18 LIV Golf League players who qualified for The Masters, had fired a 76 in Thursday’s opening round. He was on seven over overall in his second round on Friday – and set to miss the cut – when severe weather halted play.
Oosthuizen did not resume his round on Saturday due to an unspecified injury.
The 2010 Open champion and nine-time European Tour winner has six runner-up finishes in Major championships, including a 2012 loss to Bubba Watson in a playoff at The Masters.
Oosthuizen also withdrew from last year’s Masters, that after an opening 76.
Meanwhile, 2011 Masters champion Charl Schwartzel carded 74 and 73 to finish on three over and just make the cut, while 18-year-old SA amateur Aldrich Potgieter shot 77 and 74 in his first Masters to end on seven over.
