Dylan Frittelli fired a second-round six-under-par 65 to climb into a tie for second place at the Challenge Tour’s Le Vaudreuil Golf Challenge in France on Friday afternoon.
The 26-year-old started his round on the 10th with a bogey but rebounded with an eagle at the 12th. He picked up a birdie at the 14th before another eagle followed at the 18th as he went out in 32 strokes.
No eagles came Frittelli’s way on the homeward stretch, but he picked up birdies at the first and seventh to climb to 10-under-par for the tournament and be the early clubhouse leader in the second round, alongside Germany’s Sebastian Heisele and Alexander Bjork. A few minutes later, they were both outdone by Scotland’s Ross Kellett after he posted a second-round 67 to be at 11-under-par after 36 holes.
Other South Africans in the field include Michael Palmer and Darryn Lloyd who had yet to tee-off in their second rounds after both opening with 74 on Thursday.
