47-year-old Stewart Cink broke the 36-hole course record at Harbour Town on Friday to take a commanding lead at the RBC Heritage event.
Having made a spectacular start on Thursday, Cink enjoyed a flawless second-round display with him shooting another eight-under-par 63.
The bogey-free round propelled him up the leaderboard and into a five-shot lead where he reached the halfway mark of the Heritage on 16 under par.
His midway score of 126 is three shots better than that of Jack Nicklaus in 1975 and Phil Mickelson in 2002 at the Harbour Town Links.

Conners has been in excellent form of late and will undoubtedly provide Cink with a challenge over the next two days.
Similarly, Argentinian Emiliano Grillo is also in a good position ahead of moving day at Hilton Head. Rounds of 68 and 64 have moved him up to 10 under for the week, while Cameron Smith, Collin Morikawa, Sungjae Im and Billy Horschel are all a further stroke back on nine under and in T4.
South Africa’s Branden Grace also made more solid progress in his second round, carding a composed two-under-par 69 to move up to five under for the week. Dylan Frittelli went four under for his Friday showing and will start Saturday’s third round in T31.
Christiaan Bezuidenhout is one stroke back on three under, following his second-round 69.
