A star-studded field will kickstart the new year for the PGA Tour when the Sentry Tournament of Champions gets under way on Thursday.
The 2021 season is already in full swing and the FedEx Cup standings already heating up, with an exciting year of golf in the United States to look forward to.
Leader of the pack and the current world No 1, Dustin Johnson, will headline this week’s field, hoping to build on his tremendous success in 2020.
Defending FedEx Cup champion and holder of the coveted Masters Green Jacket, Johnson is set to continue where he left off at the Kapalua Plantation Course.

He is, though, set to receive strong competition from a handful of his biggest rivals on Tour, all eager to push him all the way this year in order to be regarded as the best in the world.
They include defending champion in Maui, Justin Thomas, 2020 US Open champion Bryson DeChambeau and Johnson’s biggest contender in the Official World Golf Rankings, Jon Rahm.
Last year Thomas edged countryman Xander Schauffele in an enthralling playoff, winning the event for a second time in his career.
Once again, DeChambeau will also be in the headlines with his style of playing – will it continue? The American was superb at Winged Foot, but collapsed under the Augusta National conditions.
This will also be his first appearance since his T34 finish in Georgia.
Other worthy mentions for this week include the exciting batch of young players currently on the PGA Tour, who could once again steal the show in the months to come.
Collin Morikawa, already a Major winner from last year, will be in action, as will Patrick Cantlay, Cameron Champ, Viktor Hovland and Sungjae Im to name a few.
Despite earning qualification for the event, Rory McIlroy and Tyrrell Hatton opted not to compete at the Tournament of Champions.
