Christiaan Bezuidenhout claimed back to back victories on the European Tour when he won the South African Open at Sun City on Sunday.

Bezuidenhout, who triumphed at last week’s Alfred Dunhill Championship, lead the way for the majority of the week at the Gary Player Country Club – taking a five-stroke lead into the final round.

A three-under-par 67 was more than enough for him to come out on top in the 110th edition of the national open with a winning score of 18 under par.

Dylan Frittelli and Jamie Donaldson started the day as Bezuidenhout’s biggest challengers with Frittelli struggling during the final round, while the Welshman made an early charge at the leader.

But, the 26-year-old Bezuidenhout rolled in three consecutive birdies on the 10th, 11th and 12th holes to edge further away from Donaldson.

Another birdie on the 16th hole all but sealed the victory for Bezuidenhout, who is now a three-time winner on the European Tour.

He will head to Dubai this coming week for the DP World Tour Championship where the season will conclude and a new Race to Dubai winner will be crowned.
