Christiaan Bezuidenhout and Jamie Donaldson will head into moving day at the Gary Player Country Club as the leaders of the SA Open.
Tied on ten under par, both Bezuidenhout and Donaldson played some delightful golf on Friday that made for an interesting display on the leaderboard.
Bezuidenhout, who has been playing with a lot of confidence following his win at Leopard Creek last week, shot a second-round 67, which included five birdies for a bogey-free display.
‘I’m very pleased. I missed a few makeable putts on the par fives and a few short putts which hurt a bit, but no damage was done. I was controlled and solid today, and I’m very pleased to be at -10 at the halfway mark. You have to have good course management around here and I’ve had a good gameplan for this week. I’m not going to change anything,’ he said
Donaldson on the other hand made a massive surge up the leaderboard with a nine-under-par 63 at Sun City.
The Welshman was in red-hot form with his putter, rolling in a total of ten birdies with a single bogey across his 18 holes.
Dylan Frittelli also got the ball rolling with a four-under 68 that saw him climb up to eight under for the week.
He will head into the weekend in T2, alongside Dean Burmester, who was one of the overnight leaders, following Thursday’s opening round.
Burmester shot a 69 on Friday for a three under par and is in a pretty good position to make a decent attempt at the title over the next two rounds.
