World No 1 Dustin Johnson believes the quest for a Green Jacket will intensify throughout the week, given the long wait for the Masters 2020 edition.
The postponement of arguably golf’s biggest event will, according to Johnson, ensure a spectacle with a number of contenders in line to come out on top.
For Johnson, though, it is a dream that he has imagined in his head since he was a little boy.

‘Growing up as a kid only about an hour away from here – hitting chips or putts, it was always to win the Masters and it was just that tournament because it was so close. It was what I dreamed about winning,’ Johnson told reporters at Augusta National.
The 36-year-old has had an incredible year on the PGA Tour, walking away with the 2020 FedEx Cup title and three victories since golf’s restart.
Johnson, though, has only one Major to his name so far but finished in the top 10 at the Masters in all three of his previous appearances in Georgia.
‘I just need to keep putting myself in situations, I am playing good enough golf. I feel if I can put myself in that position come Sunday, I would like my chances but we got to get there first.

‘I’ve had a couple of good finishes here the last couple of years. As long as the game stays in form then hopefully be around here on Sunday and have a chance to win,’ he added.
The American also believes that the minor differences in the timing of the event, compared to the usual April slot, will mean he has to be extra focused and determined to succeed over the four rounds.

‘Obviously this golf course is tough, they have made it a lot longer through the years and it’s really playing along right now. I want to shoot good scores here then I would have to play the par fives well. It’s definitely a different feeling out there and it’s going to be a different feeling the whole week, but it’s still the Masters and there’s still a Green Jacket on the line.’
