The PGA Merchandise Show officially opened at the Orange County Convention Centre this morning with golf legend Lee Trevino doing the honours of announcing the beginning of the show to rapturous applause.
Today gave me a chance to quickly move through the multitude of booths to see what’s in store over the next two days, and this was followed by a trip to the very impressive TaylorMade booth to interview the men behind the Research & Development of the brand’s latest balls, putters and wedges.
I followed up this meeting with some product testing, specifically the latest Tour Edge fairway woods. Unfortunately this brand is no longer available in South Africa, but should you ever have the opportunity to acquire one of these clubs, I would highly recommend them.
Tomorrow’s plans include more interviews with R&D executives at TaylorMade and adidas before checking out what other products are worth writing about, of which there are plenty.
