RBC Heritage champion Webb Simpson and Chase Koepka. a Monday qualifier and brother of Brooks Koepka, have both withdrawn from the Travelers Championship.
Covid-19 update: Brooks out of Travelers Championship
While neither have tested positive, both have taken extra precaution and decided to return home.
Simpson withdrew citing a family member who has tested positive. ‘While my tests this week were negative, I feel like it is my responsbility to take care of my family and protect my peers in the field by withdrawing,’ he said.
He is en route to his home in Charlotte and will undergo self isolation.
Chase Koepka withdrew after playing a practise round with Brooks Koepka, Graeme McDowell and Shane Lowry. Brooks and McDowell have both pulled out from the event after their caddies tested positive.
‘I feel like this is the best decision to keep all other players, caddies and volunteers safe,’ he said.
