Daniel Berger tees up in Memphis this weeklooking for an elusive win at the FedEx St. Jude Classic after a string of strong performances in his last two years on the PGA Tour.
The 23 year-old, who only turned professional in 2013, has made a meteoric rise since then, now finding himself among the top 50 players in the world.
His first full year as a professional on the Web.com Tour resulted in five top-10 finishes with a best of tied-second at the Stonebrae Classic in California. These performances eventually resulted in Berger securing his PGA Tour card for 2015.
He had a stellar rookie season on tour and recorded six top-10 finishes, including runner-ups at the Honda Classic and the BMW Championship. Berger was 11th in FedEx Cup standings, winning a little over $3 million and was deservedly named PGA Tour rookie of the year.
Halfway though this season and he has already cracked another three top-10 finishes, although a top-three spot or better has alluded him. His best finish this season so far has been tied-fifth at the Shell Houston Open and he is 50th in the FedEx Cup standings, something he will be looking to improve come this week at TPC Southwind.
The Florida resident will hope he can make an impact in Tennessee and grab a win before heading to Oakmont Country Club for the US Open next week.
