Lee Westwodd is one of only two players to win three Nordea Masters in his career, and the 23-time European Tour champ is playing well heading into the 2016 tournament.
The Englishman shared 15th place at the BMW PGA Championship last week after a disappointing Sunday 76 blew him out of contention.
Prior to that it was been solid from Westwood, who shared second at The Masters and was tied 10th at the Irish Open. His resurgence in form has earned him 35th place in the world ranking heading into this week’s € 1,5-million event at Bro Hoff Slott Golf Club in Stockholm.
Westwood began the year with missed cuts at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship and the Omega Dubai Desert Classic, but sprung back with his share of second place at Augusta National.
Those recent showings have earned the 43-year-old seventh place in the Race to Dubai, but he’ll be eyeing a victory this week in order to become the only player with four Nordea Masters trophies.
Standing in his way is local favourite Henrik Stenson, who is world number six and a former winner of both the FedEx Cup and Race to Dubai.
Westwood faces a host of other scandinavian hopefuls, but his prowess in Sweden makes him the man to beat this week.
