Rory McIlroy heads to the Wells Fargo Championship looking for his third win in six starts there. The Northern Irishman has five top-10s (including two wins) at Quail Hollow.
McIlroy ranks third in the world and will be itching for a return to the top spot. At present he is 36th in the FedEx Cup and, when he takes stock of the season, will look to improve on his game.
At present he is 118th for driving accuracy on the PGA Tour, but has a scoring average of 69.954, which is sixth-best. He makes 69% of greens in regulation, but ranks 100th for putts per green with an average of 1.613.
Getting back to world number one starts with improving those statistics and the 27-year-old must look to take advantage of his ball striking ability.
He is only multiple winner of the Wells Fargo Championship and was 10th at The Masters, his last stop before a holiday to Barbados with his fiancée Erica Stoll.
McIlroy will be well rested coming into the week and has the best history of any golfer in the field at Quail Hollow. He holds the 72-hole low score (267) there and his round of 61 last year is the course record. Expect to see him near the front come Sunday.
