A freak injury at the airport has forced top-ranked South African golfer Louis Oosthuizen to withdraw from the Joburg Open starting tomorrow at Randpark Golf Club.
Oosthuizen, who finished T7 last week at the AfrAsia Mauritius Bank Open, suffered an injury to his fingers after getting them caught in an airport trolley. The 35-year-old was hoping that an extra day’s rest, with the Pro Am being washed out, would help him but unfortunately, he was unable to grip the club and was forced to withdraw.

‘I don’t wait to tee off on Thursday and play one hole, hit a few shots and then withdraw and take someone’s else spot, I just don’t want to do that, ‘ Oosthuizen told the media on Wednesday. ,
